　　亞加達(dá)國際預(yù)科2021年準(zhǔn)畢業(yè)生再獲多家名校錄??！其中，廣州亞加達(dá)國際預(yù)科Elly同學(xué)獲得了英屬哥倫比亞大學(xué)的Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow全額獎學(xué)金錄取。恭喜Elly!

　　The AIC class of 2021 has received great news from several world-renowned universities once again! One among the many is Elly’s acceptance into The University of British Columbia with a 100% scholarship as part of the Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award. Congratulations, Elly!

　　KMILOT獎旨在表彰那些在學(xué)術(shù)成績卓越，積極服務(wù)社區(qū)并表現(xiàn)出潛在領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力的優(yōu)秀學(xué)生。Elly從一眾申請者中脫穎而出，是獲得此獎項及全額獎學(xué)金的53位國際學(xué)生之一。

　　The KMILOT Award recognizes outstanding students who have achieved academic excellence, shown community activism and demonstrated leadership potential. Elly is one of 53 international students who were carefully selected to receive this award with a 100% scholarship.

　　這是AIC學(xué)子第二次獲得英屬哥倫比亞大學(xué)的KMILOT獎項全額獎學(xué)金錄取。早在 2019年，我校來自泰國的Earn同學(xué)就獲得過該獎項，他還同時被麥吉爾大學(xué)和多倫多大學(xué)等加拿大頂尖院校錄取。

　　This is the second time an AIC student has received the KMILOT award with a full scholarship from UBC. In 2019, Earn, one of our international students from Thailand, also received this award along with acceptances into other top Canadian universities, including McGill University and University of Toronto.

Elly

　　亞加達(dá)國際預(yù)科2021年準(zhǔn)畢業(yè)生

　　Elly來自柬埔寨，16歲時來到中國。她性格活潑、志向遠(yuǎn)大、富有同情心且勤奮，是正在AIC完成IBDP文憑課程的一位優(yōu)秀的國際學(xué)生。

　　Elly came to China from Cambodia when she was 16 years old. She is bubbly, ambitious, compassionate and hardworking. As one of our overseas students with excellent academic performance, Elly is currently completing the IBDP program at AIC.

　　回顧起在AIC的生活，Elly表示:“我喜歡這里的校園生活，很感恩有機(jī)會和一群很棒的人相處，因為他們，我感到我屬于這里?！?/p>

　　Reflecting on her life at AIC, Elly said “I love the campus life at AIC. I am so grateful for the opportunities and beyond blessed to meet all of these amazing people because they made me feel like I belong here.”

　　“學(xué)校老師們非常支持和理解我們，他們讓我們的課堂時光過得很愉快，而且每周都會在學(xué)校組織有趣的活動。”

　　“My teachers have been super supportive and understanding. They made class enjoyable and would organize fun events and activities around school almost every week.”

　　“我們的住宿顧問讓我感覺這里就是家。他們心思周到、善良還很有趣。”

　　“Our residential advisors made me feel at home. They were thoughtful, kind-hearted, and fun to be around.”

　　“討論問題時，國際學(xué)生們總能拋出新的觀點，我喜歡學(xué)習(xí)他們的文化。我的室友和同學(xué)們都很真誠，友善和樂于助人。我在學(xué)校遇到任何困難，他們都愿意幫助我?！?/p>

　　“The international students always bring new perspectives into each discussion, and I love learning about their cultures. My roommates and classmates are genuine, friendly, and helpful. They are always willing to help if I faced any difficulties at school.”

　　在AIC學(xué)習(xí)這段時間，Elly展現(xiàn)出了全面提升個人綜合素質(zhì)的能力。她除了努力完成自己選修的英語、中文、環(huán)境科學(xué)、數(shù)學(xué)、戲劇及視覺藝術(shù)這六門DP課程，還踴躍地參加CAS實踐及學(xué)校組織的各項活動。

　　Elly has demonstrated her ability to be a well-rounded student during her time at AIC. She has not only worked hard to complete the 6 DP courses she selected, including English Language and Literature, Chinese Ab Initio, Environmental Systems and Sciences, Mathematics, Theatre, and Visual Arts, but has also actively participated in CAS activities and engaged in various extracurricular activities.

　　她參加了全球青少年演講挑戰(zhàn)賽和ASDAN模擬商賽，將課堂所學(xué)付諸實踐。

　　She has taken part in The Global Youth Challenge and the ASDAN Business Simulation, putting what she has learned in class into practice.

　　她還與同學(xué)們一起到校外偏遠(yuǎn)地區(qū)進(jìn)行支教。

　　She has also travelled to remote areas outside school to support learning in local communities with her classmates.

　　此外，愛好廣泛的她，還積極地參加學(xué)校組織的排球運(yùn)動和音樂活動。

　　In addition, she has a wide range of hobbies and actively participates in volleyball and music activities organized by AIC.

　　Elly表示，參加這一系列豐富的課外活動不僅讓她收獲了實實在在的成長，也讓她的簡歷更豐富。

　　According to Elly, having such a wide variety of extracurricular experiences has not only helped her grow as an individual but also boosted her CV.

　　此外，Elly還利用居住在廣州的這段時間，四處游覽探訪，能深入學(xué)習(xí)和了解中國文化，也是她愛上在AIC學(xué)習(xí)的重要原因。

　　Elly has also taken advantage of the time she lived in Guangzhou to travel around to learn and understand the Chinese culture in depth, which is also an important reason why she fell in love with studying at AIC.

　　疫情期間，作為一名IB學(xué)生，Elly面臨繁重課業(yè)，想要保持優(yōu)異的在校成績，壓力巨大。她無法入境，不能回校上課。但她努力地克服困難，調(diào)整自己以適應(yīng)環(huán)境，并堅持和老師保持密切溝通，進(jìn)行線上學(xué)習(xí)。是這種困難面前不退縮的態(tài)度，讓她最終如愿獲得心儀大學(xué)的錄取。

　　During the pandemic, as an IB student, Elly faced significant amount of schoolwork and pressure to continue excelling at school. She was unable to return to campus for study due to border closures. However, she adapted and persevered through these challenges, kept contact with her teachers and participated in online learning. Owing to her never-back-down attitude, Elly has received this offer from her dream school.

　　在此之前，Elly還已經(jīng)收到多倫多大學(xué)提供的2.5萬加幣/年的獎學(xué)金錄取，特倫特大學(xué)1萬加幣/年的獎學(xué)金錄取，阿爾伯塔大學(xué)9千加幣的獎學(xué)金錄取，以及她所申請的5家英國知名院校全都向她發(fā)出了錄取函。

　　Elly has also received offers from the University of Toronto with a scholarship of 25,000 CAD/year, Trent University with a scholarship of 10,000 CAD/year, 9,000 CAD from University of Alberta, and a 100% acceptance rate from her UK applications (5/5 universities).

Elly的經(jīng)驗分享 | Sharing from Elly

　　申請大學(xué)時，Elly在選擇專業(yè)和學(xué)校方面有自己獨(dú)立的想法。

　　When it comes to university application, Elly was quite an independent individual regarding choosing majors and schools.

　　“要盡早開始，且對過程充滿信心”，是她的建議?！拔覀冊S多人可能覺得讀12年級是最令人沮喪的經(jīng)歷之一。但如果你下定決心、保持專注和積極的態(tài)度，就能在意識到壓力前先克服它?！?/p>

　　“Start early and trust the process”, she says. “Year 12 can be one of the most frustrating periods for a lot of us. However, if you can set your mind to it, stay focused, and stay positive, it will be over before you know it.”

　　“如說我沒糾結(jié)過那是騙人的。實際上，在柬埔寨疫情蔓延的時候，我很難適應(yīng)線上學(xué)習(xí)。幸運(yùn)的是，我的老師、朋友和家人都給了我?guī)椭?，我發(fā)現(xiàn)它能弱化這件事對我的影響?！?/p>

　　“I would be lying if I say I didn’t struggle. In fact, I had a really difficult time adjusting to online learning while the pandemic is still ongoing in Cambodia. Fortunately, with the help of my teachers, friends, and family, I found it a lot less intimidating.”

　　此外，Elly還想要對AIC的師弟師妹們說，“祝你們申請順利！我對你們充滿信心”。

　　Finally, she also wishes her AIC juniors, “Best of luck with your applications! I believe in you guys.”
