本月的圖書館英文閱讀課主題是“共享地球”。共享地球,是PYP六大超學(xué)科主題之一。什么是共享地球?讓我們來看看IB官方對于共享地球的定義吧。

探究努力與他人及其他生物分享有限資源時的權(quán)利與責(zé)任;群體/社區(qū)以及他們內(nèi)部及之間的關(guān)系;機(jī)會均等;和平與解決沖突。

? ? Part1 The Great Tree Mouse Adventure
三只樹鼠的家園被人類活動破壞,被迫逃離。于是它們踏上了充滿驚險的旅程找尋新家,在這個過程中彼此幫助。閱讀過程中,孩子們被樹鼠的合作精神所感染,感悟到如果我們的地球家園遭受了破壞,我們也應(yīng)該聯(lián)合起來,采取行動,守護(hù)我們共同的地球家園。
? ? Three tree mice's home was?destroyed by human and they were forced to flee, so they embark on a thrilling journey to find a new home, helping each other along the way. During the reading process, the children were influenced by the cooperative spirit of the tree mice and realized that if our earth is damaged, we should also cooperate and take actions to protect our home.
Part2 Caring for our World
我們每年要制造多少垃圾?垃圾去了哪里?我們怎么處理垃圾?我們可以怎樣減少垃圾?森林是地球上很多的動物賴以生存的家園,但是人類正在不斷破壞森林以獲取其他資源。我們?nèi)绾握壬??在老師的指?dǎo)閱讀和孩子們的自主探究閱讀中,這些問題都得到了一一解答。
? ? How much garbage do we produce every year? Where does the garbage go? What do we do with the garbage? How can we reduce the rubbish? Forests are home to many animals on earth, but ?humans are destroying them for other resources? How can we save the forest??The questions are answered under the teacher's guidance and children's independent inquiry reading.
諸暨海亮外國語學(xué)校的PYP圖書館英文閱讀課由外教和IB圖書管理員協(xié)作開展,結(jié)合PYP跨學(xué)科主題選擇閱讀材料,在提高英語閱讀能力的同時豐富學(xué)科知識,拓展閱讀領(lǐng)域。
The PYP Library English reading course at HFLS is a collaborative effort between foreign teachers and IB librarians. The PYP library reading class selects reading materials in combination with PYP interdisciplinary topics to enrich the subject knowledge and expand the field of reading while improving English reading ability.
上完閱讀課后,孩子們紛紛拿起畫筆,描繪自己眼中的地球,呼吁大家保護(hù)地球,珍愛地球。
After the reading class, the children picked up the painting brush to depict the earth in their eyes, and called on everyone to protect and cherish the earth.
在以“共享地球”為主題的圖書館閱讀課的感知與探索中,孩子們?nèi)グl(fā)現(xiàn)和思考人與自然的共生與共享,我們身處自然之中,我們的行為會對自然產(chǎn)生影響,反過來,自然也會影響我們。讓孩子們從對地球環(huán)境的認(rèn)知開始,建立對自然的敬畏之心,以及對社會和環(huán)境的責(zé)任感和歸屬感。
We are in the nature, our behavior will have an impact on nature, and in turn, nature will also affect us. Let students start with the understanding of the earth and environment, and build a sense of reverence for nature, as well as a sense of responsibility and belonging for the society and environment.
