Good afternoon everyone.  Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to share a few words on behalf of your teachers here at SHBS.  

在座的各位家長，老師以及同學(xué)們，大家下午好。我很榮幸能有機(jī)會代表宏潤博源學(xué)校的老師們和跟大家分享我的一些想法。

First of all, I would like to welcome everyone to the start of the fall semester. There have been many changes and challenges over the past year and a half, and it has been a long process for all of us adapting to this “new normal”, and many of us have found ourselves in a far different place and on a far different path than we would have imagined, just a short time ago.  

首先, 歡迎大家參加開學(xué)典禮。在過去的一年半里，我們經(jīng)歷了太多的變化和挑戰(zhàn)，對于我們所有人來說，適應(yīng)這種"新常態(tài)"是一個漫長的過程，我們中的許多人發(fā)現(xiàn)自己處在一個完全不同的地方 ，走上了一條與我們前不久想象中截然不同的道路 。

For many of us here, this has been opening of a new and unexpected chapter in our lives.  As a result, as much as high school is a time for conversations about plans, goals and roadmaps for the future, a number of us may have been presented with circumstances both unexpected and unplanned for.

對我們這里的很多人來說，我們開啟了生活中的一個嶄新的，意料之外的篇章。因此， 盡管高中應(yīng)該是我們是討論和規(guī)劃未來的階段，我們中的一些人可能已經(jīng)面臨意想不到和準(zhǔn)備不足的情況。

Of course, planning your path, and methodically pursuing your goals for the future are very important, and there is much that needs to be done in terms of preparing for ‘next steps’.  That said, I would like take a moment to talk about embracing the unexpected, and to ask about what we can learn from divergent opportunities and new paths and unanticipated situations, and the chance to explore these tangential experiences.

當(dāng)然, 規(guī)劃你的求學(xué)道路，有條不紊地追求你未來的目標(biāo)是非常重要的，并且在準(zhǔn)備"下一步"方面還有很多工作要做。話雖如此，我想要花點時間談?wù)勅绾蚊鎸σ庀氩坏降氖虑椋?并想問問大家，我們?nèi)绾卧谕蝗缙鋪淼奈C(jī)里面發(fā)現(xiàn)轉(zhuǎn)機(jī)。

Exploration, side journeys, detours, and mistakes are just as important as goal setting and achievement.  It’s important to view these years as an opportunity to explore who you are as a person as much as it’s a chance to set goals for the future.

做探索、走側(cè)路、繞彎路和犯錯誤與目標(biāo)設(shè)定和取得成就同樣重要。把這些年當(dāng)作探索與認(rèn)清自我的一個機(jī)會，盡管這也是個為將來設(shè)定目標(biāo)的機(jī)會。

Our time here at SHBS is an opportunity to try new experiences and take risks, to explore previously unexamined avenues, and embrace challenges outside of our comfort zone for their own sake.

在宏潤博源的時光，其實也是一個嘗試與冒險的機(jī)會，去探索那條以前“沒走過的路”，迎接在我們的舒適圈之外的挑戰(zhàn)。

What you learn about yourself as a member of a community is just as important (if not more so) than what you achieve academically, and that disappointment and failure are just as important a part of the process as success and achievement.  

作為宏潤博源的大家庭的一員，你的自我認(rèn)知，與你在學(xué)業(yè)上所取得的成就一樣重要，甚至更加重要。同時，你的失敗挫折作為過程的一部分與成功和成就同樣重要。

So, take risks.  Embrace the error aspect of ‘trial and error’.  Try things that may be too difficult, and find yourself in places where you don’t know the rules and are unsure of the path.  Waste time and join clubs or groups whose descriptions make you say “huh?”.  Most importantly, take this time to experience change in ways you may not fully understand, and know that you’ll be a far different person at the end of this path than you were when you began, and know that this is a good thing.

所以，要勇于冒險. 勇于面對反復(fù)嘗試和反復(fù)碰壁。 嘗試一些對你來說很困難的事情，去探索未知的領(lǐng)域?；c時間去參加一些你可能感到一頭霧水的社團(tuán)活動。最重要的是， 花這段時間去做出改變，并且在這條道路的盡頭，你會明白你和你當(dāng)初的你相比大有改觀。
