桂花飄香秋光潤,書聲滿園筆墨芳。當(dāng)下,是一年中氣候最宜人的季節(jié),也是歷經(jīng)耕耘之后,迎來收獲的季節(jié)。11月14日,我們舉行了由初中部主辦的小、初、高三學(xué)部第三次聯(lián)合升旗儀式。本次升旗儀式的主題是“每一天都有Well-being” 。
The fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus blossoms filled the air in autumn and the sound of books filled the campus. The most pleasant season of the year has arrived, and it is a time of harvest. On November 14th, SUIS Qingpu held its third combined Flag-raising Ceremony, hosted by the Middle School. The theme for this particular ceremony was "Every day is Wellbeing".
“Well-being” 的釋義為 “幸福;生活安寧;幸福安康,指的是指身體和心靈上的舒心,愉悅?!?nbsp;在本月的升旗儀式上,我們以Well-being為關(guān)鍵詞,與全校師生一起分享、感受生活中那些美好的“小確幸”。
Wellbeing can be interpreted as "happiness and peace in life, with comfort and pleasure in both body and mind". This month, we used wellbeing as the key term to help focus our thoughts and discussions among our students and teachers.
初中部CCA社團的師生們用一段歡騰的舞龍,為師生們帶來了火熱的開場表演。兩條長龍目光炯炯,變換出不同招式,這與同學(xué)們平時的辛苦訓(xùn)練密不可分。
The Middle School’s Dragon Dance CCA members gave us a fiery and exhilarating opening performance. The two long dragons looked upon us with bright eyes, and proceeded through a series of different moves, inseparable from the performing students’ dedication to their task.
“幾度秋意濃,最是桂花香” 。每到金秋十月,校園里的桂花盛開,芬芳馥郁。桂花在東西方文化中都有著美好的寓意,在我校首屆 “金桂節(jié)” 期間,聞桂香、品桂蜜、折桂枝、唱桂曲,搖曳多姿的桂花給我們?nèi)w師生帶來了太多的大歡喜和小確幸。
For late autumn, the fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus is one of the most important features of the season. Every golden autumn, its flowers are in full bloom and its scent so noticeable around the campus. Osmanthus has beautiful meanings in both Eastern and Western cultures. During our first "Golden Osmanthus Festival", we arranged many acitivities such as smelling osmanthus, tasting osmanthus honey, folding osmanthus branches, singing osmanthus songs, and observing osmanthus flowers, bringing great joy to all.
早在幾周之前,六年級組的語文老師就帶領(lǐng)學(xué)生一起在校園中賞桂、聞桂、攝桂、寫桂。同學(xué)們的課堂由教室搬到了校園里的桂花樹下,他們一邊欣賞、感受桂花的美好,一邊用自己獨特的視角拍攝桂花照片,記錄下生活中的這一份“小確幸”。之后,他們還發(fā)揮自己的中英雙語特長,為桂花制作雙語名片,以“桂”為意象創(chuàng)作雙語詩歌。
來自6A班的胡恩碩和6E班的于范馨樂兩位同學(xué)分享了參與這次桂花節(jié)的體驗與感受。
A few weeks ago, Chinese teachers from Grade 6 led their students to appreciate, smell, photograph and write about osmanthus. Lessons were moved from the classroom to the osmanthus tree. While appreciating and feeling the beauty of osmanthus, they took pictures of osmanthus from their own unique perspectives to reflect on and record their ‘wellbeing’ in life. After that, they made bilingual posters about the flowers, creating bilingual poems accompanied by their unique osmanthus pictures. Class 6A’s Andy Hu and 6E’s Miley Yu shared their experiences and feelings after participating in the Osmanthus Festival.
在這次升旗儀式上,我們也邀請了黃瑩校長和Adam校長一起為“G6桂花之影主題展”揭幕。
For this Flag-raising Ceremony, we also invited Co-Principals Ms. Sunny Huang and Dr. Adam Neufield to unveil the placard announcing the opening of the "Grade 6 Osmanthus Photo Exhibition".
小小的桂花,就能給我們帶來如此豐富的Well-being,其實,只要我們有一顆熱愛生活的心,一雙善于發(fā)現(xiàn)幸福的眼,Well-being時刻在我們身邊。來自小、初、高的師生也和大家分享了屬于自己的Well-being。
A small osmanthus flower can bring us such rich wellbeing feelings. In fact, wellbeing will always be with us if we have hearts that love life and pairs of eyes that are good at discovering happiness. Teachers and students from the three divisions also shared about their own wellbeing experience.
小學(xué)部的每個年級都派出了代表來分享他們心中的幸福。對于剛成為小學(xué)生兩個月的一年級的同學(xué)來說,幸福是大大的操場、可口的飯菜;二年級的小朋友認(rèn)為幸福來源于學(xué)??蓯鄣睦蠋煛⑼瑢W(xué)和叔叔阿姨們,也來源于各種各樣豐富的活動;三年級的同學(xué)覺得,在青浦協(xié)和感受到了世界文化的多姿多彩,體驗中華傳統(tǒng)的無限魅力,享受學(xué)習(xí)知識的無限快樂;四年級的同學(xué)們在各式各樣的課程中和老師們精彩的課堂上找到了自己的興趣和閃光點;五年級的大孩子回顧在協(xié)和這五年的點點滴滴,感受到了感受著成長的幸福。
Each grade from our primary school invited a representative to share about their wellbeing happiness. For Grade 1 students, who have just recently become primary students, happiness is a big playground and delicious meals; Grade 2 children think that happiness comes from the lovely teachers and classmates in the school, from their aunts and uncles, and also from various activities; Grade 3 students shared that wellbeing comes from the diversity of world cultures, from experiencing the charm of Chinese traditions, and from experiencing the infinite joy of learning; fourth-grade students found their own wellbeing from their interests and the highlights in their wonderful classrooms with their teachers; Grade 5 children reviewed their past five years at SUIS Qingpu and shared with us the happiness of growing up.
初中部的郭子宸同學(xué)與大家分享了他創(chuàng)設(shè)Science Club的幸福體驗,他一直以來對科學(xué)有著濃厚的興趣,由他創(chuàng)設(shè)的Science Club在老師們的幫助下發(fā)展、成長,吸引著越來越多的成員加入,并已發(fā)表了兩篇原創(chuàng)稿件。
Jason Guo, a student from Grade 9, spoke about his successful experience of setting up a Science Club - he has always had a strong interest in science. His Science Club has developed and grown through the guidance of his teachers and continues to attract members. What is more, the Club has thus far published two original articles.
在這個收獲的季節(jié),我校首屆高中畢業(yè)班的同學(xué)也進(jìn)入了大學(xué)申請的最后沖刺階段,來自高三的學(xué)長黃峰麒同學(xué)為我們分享了他逐夢名校的故事。通過學(xué)長講述自己耐心細(xì)致地準(zhǔn)備申請材料和文書寫作、如何與壓力共處的故事,讓大家感受到了他堅持自我,主動探索的幸福之道。
In this harvest season, high school students in our first graduating class, the Class of 2023, entered the final stages of the university application process. Grade 12 student Elvis Wong shared his thoughts about how to prepare application materials and essay writing patiently and meticulously, and how to co-exist while under pressure. Everyone was able to genuinely experience his particular method for maintaining wellbeing – to persevere in expoloring himself.
是的,每一天都有Well-being。Well-being需要在各種經(jīng)歷中感受,Well-being需要在互助友愛中體會,Well-being也需要在日常的學(xué)習(xí)生活中去創(chuàng)造。祝愿大家珍惜當(dāng)下,發(fā)現(xiàn)自己的Well-being!
Indeed, there is a need to maintain wellbeing every day. Wellbeing needs to be felt from various experiences, needs to be experienced through mutual help and love, and needs to be created in daily learning and life. It is our wish and hope that you all cherish the moment and keep discovering your own wellbeing!
