All The World’s A Stage, and We Are The Actors

上周，協(xié)和教科融合課程部成功上演了2021年冬季展演——“All The World’s A Stage, and We Are The Actors”。 

一年一度的冬季展演是我們?nèi)诤险n程部的傳統(tǒng)活動，它傳承了西方新年音樂會以音樂和戲劇表達(dá)祝福的內(nèi)涵，憑借聽眾與表演者之間以戲劇為共鳴的精神溝通，一起迎接新一年的到來。

今年，出于疫情防控考慮，我們以直播的方式將冬季展演呈現(xiàn)于協(xié)和社群。在90分鐘的演出中，學(xué)生、老師和家長們在云端相會，共赴盛宴。

Last week, SUIS JKEMW was proud to present their 2021 Winter Performance of ‘All The World’s A Stage, and We Are The Actors’. The annual traditional winter showcase is a way to celebrate the New Year, connect our community and express blessings.

To keep our community safe, the Winter Celebration Showcase was presented live to an exclusive audience of junior high students and live streamed for parents and family members to watch at home or anywhere.

本次展演由我們的戲劇團(tuán)隊(duì)精心策劃和編排，以6年級學(xué)生為主導(dǎo)，將莎士比亞戲劇、獨(dú)白和十四行詩的一些節(jié)選搬上了舞臺。今年，我們的戲劇老師選擇將西方故事融入到中國歷史背景中，將中西方元素有機(jī)結(jié)合，重新演繹莎翁的經(jīng)典劇目。

高年級同學(xué)們則通過視頻，將莎翁經(jīng)典以自己的方式進(jìn)行詮釋。

The show has been carefully and passionately pieced together by our drama team to show East Meets West on stage. Grade 6 students performed some excerpts from Shakespeare’s plays, monologues and sonnets on stage. This year, we opted to make the showcase more personal and relatable by setting it here in China so that audience could see western and eastern elements simultaneously.

The junior high students interpreted the Shakespeare classics in their own way through videos.

當(dāng)天，融合課程部2021冬季展演在幾位融合學(xué)子的美妙演奏和優(yōu)美吟唱中緩緩拉開序幕。

The 2021 winter show kicked off with the beautiful music and singing presented by our students.

《泰特斯·安德洛尼克斯》、《麥克白》、《哈姆雷特》、《尤利烏斯·愷撒》、《羅密歐與朱麗葉》、《仲夏夜之夢》等經(jīng)典戲劇片段被搬上了舞臺。

Excerpts of 'Titus Andronicus', 'Macbeth', 'Hamlet', 'Julius Caesar', 'Romeo and Juliet', and 'Midsummer Night Dream' have been put on the stage.

“獨(dú)白”是指戲劇角色獨(dú)自一人在舞臺上通過語言和動作來展示人物思想和情緒的一種表現(xiàn)方式。作為莎翁戲劇重要的一部分，學(xué)生們探索了了各種技巧來進(jìn)行最好的呈現(xiàn)。

A monologue is a speech or composition presenting the words or thoughts of a single character. As an important part of Shakespeare's dramas, the students explored and tried various techniques to make the best performance.

在莎士比亞戲劇展演的舞臺上，自然少不了十四行詩。十四行詩出自伊麗莎白時(shí)代，由14個(gè)詩行組成，是一種格律嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)氖闱樵婓w，以歌頌愛情，表現(xiàn)人文主義思想為主要內(nèi)容。莎士比亞的十四行詩經(jīng)受了時(shí)代的考驗(yàn)，就像他的獨(dú)白一樣，在他身故之后的幾個(gè)世紀(jì)仍聞名于世。

Some students also performed Sonnets written by the bard. A Shakespearean sonnet is a fourteen line poem that came out of the Elizabethan era. They usually speak about love and have endured the test of times and like his monologues are still famous today centuries after his death.

感謝6年級學(xué)生的努力和付出！他們投入了大量的時(shí)間和精力學(xué)習(xí)古英語，就是為了給大家呈現(xiàn)出一臺盡善盡美的演出！

一場成功的演出同樣離不開所有老師們在幕后默默的付出。感謝戲劇老師Ms. Trim對整個(gè)活動的策劃和統(tǒng)籌！感謝音樂教研組長Ms. Barton和音樂老師Mr. Hollingsworth協(xié)調(diào)和指導(dǎo)學(xué)生的音樂開場表演。感謝德語老師Ms. Weber在活動中提供的協(xié)助和翻譯工作。最后，感謝所有教職員工在演出籌備及進(jìn)行的過程中給予的支持和鼓勵(lì)！

Thanks to all of the students of Grade 6 who dedicated time and effort into learning the Old English to be able to perform the excerpts, monologues and sonnets. Our young performers have been working tirelessly to present audience such a brilliant show!

All members of JKEMW community helped in one way or another with helping this Shakespeare Showcase a big success. Thanks to Ms. Trim, Drama Teacher, for planning and organizing the whole show! Thanks to Ms. Barton, Head of Music and Mr. Hollingsworth, Music Teacher, for guiding the students who are doing musical performances. Thanks to Ms. Weber, German Teacher, for offering help in every aspect of the showcase. Finally, we thank all the staff for their support and encouragement during the whole event.

冬季展演是融合課程部對過去一年的表演藝術(shù)教學(xué)的一次總結(jié),也是對我們的學(xué)生通過勤奮學(xué)習(xí)和努力實(shí)踐所獲得的技能的認(rèn)可。勇于走上舞臺，自信地展示自己，對所有參與的學(xué)生來說都是一次獨(dú)特而激動人心的體驗(yàn)。

The Winter Showcase marks the conclusion of EMW's performing arts education in the past year. It is also a recognition of the skills our students have gained through diligent study and practise. Performing onstage proved to be a uniquely exciting experience for all pupils involved.
