燭光之夜是美達(dá)菲學(xué)校一項(xiàng)非常知名、傳統(tǒng)的活動(dòng)，它起源于1890年美達(dá)菲格蘭比總校。如今，值此130周年校慶之際，天津美達(dá)菲學(xué)校舉行了盛大的燭光之夜，為新的學(xué)年拉開了帷幕，同時(shí)美達(dá)菲大家庭也迎來了新生的加入和返校生的回歸。

　　Candlelight is a famous, traditional event originating from the founding days of The MacDuffie School Granby, back in 1890. Our 130th Anniversary Candlelight at MacDuffie Tianjin gave us a spectacular start to our new school year, as we welcomed both new and returning students into the MacDuffie family.

　　燭光之夜一直以來都是一項(xiàng)精彩紛呈的慶典活動(dòng)，用來慶祝新的學(xué)年我們學(xué)校、學(xué)院的壯大，CIRCLE價(jià)值觀的傳承和當(dāng)下校園的人才濟(jì)濟(jì)。

　　It is always a bright and exciting celebration of our school, our Houses, our CIRCLE values and the exceptional depth of talent we have on campus.

　　學(xué)生們?cè)谕頃?huì)上的每一項(xiàng)節(jié)目都精致耀眼，有聲有色，為我校贏得了榮譽(yù)，同時(shí)這些精彩節(jié)目也為美達(dá)菲的傳統(tǒng)音樂，表演和戲劇項(xiàng)目增添了新鮮血液。

　　Those students who performed so well at the exciting gala show during the evening were a credit to our school and become part of a strong MacDuffie tradition of Music, Performance and Drama that you can be sure we’ll be seeing more of during the year.

　　晚會(huì)的壓軸部分，是由全校學(xué)生圍成一個(gè)大圓圈，共同見證篝火的點(diǎn)燃，它象征著美達(dá)菲對(duì)全體學(xué)生的熱烈歡迎與新學(xué)年的啟迪，伴隨著精彩的燈光秀，興奮激昂的氣氛彌漫了整個(gè)操場(chǎng)。

　　As a finale to the event, the whole school joined together in a huge circle to light the candle of welcome and inspiration that filled the sports field with a wonderful lightshow, providing the perfect start to our new semester.

　　這點(diǎn)燃的篝火與燈光象征著我們要繼續(xù)投身對(duì)卓越的追求，追隨著過往一代代“美達(dá)菲人”的偉大腳步勇往直前。這場(chǎng)燭光晚會(huì)讓我們深感作為美達(dá)菲戰(zhàn)馬而無比自豪。歡迎戰(zhàn)馬們歸來，讓我們攜手續(xù)寫美達(dá)菲社區(qū)新一年的光輝篇章吧！

　　This ceremonial igniting of flames and lights is a great symbol of our continuing dedication to inspiring excellence in everything we do. We are following in the great and prestigious footsteps of many generations of past “MacDufiians” who have come before us, and the whole event made us super proud to be MacDuffie Mustangs. Welcome back Mustangs, and let’s work together to make it another great year for our school community.

　　在這丹桂飄香的季節(jié)，隨著夜幕的徐徐降臨，隨著美達(dá)菲校園燃燒起的熊熊火炬，一年一度的中國(guó)天津“美達(dá)菲之夜”燭光晚會(huì)拉開了慶祝建校130周年系列教育活動(dòng)的序幕……

　　望著這燭光與繁星交織的海洋，伴隨著師生歡聲笑語的流淌，我在想：它象征著這所歷史名校的優(yōu)良傳統(tǒng)在弘揚(yáng)；它象征著一批又一批美達(dá)菲新學(xué)子的成長(zhǎng)之路從這里起航；它象征著教師們用紅燭精神托起明天我們偉大祖國(guó)的希望。

　　In the season with fragrant osmanthus, with the night slowly falling, with the igniting of a field of flames and bright lights across the campus, the annual Candlelight of MacDuffie Tianjin China kicked off a series of educational activities to celebrate the 130th anniversary...

　　Looking at the sea of candlelight and stars, accompanied by the flow of laughter and cheers, I was thinking it surely symbolizes our long and glorious traditions being enhanced and carried forward; it also symbolizes the growth of many future generations of “MacDuffians” starting from here. It stands for teachers with the spirit of candles, like beacons guiding the way, who will hold up the hope of our great motherland for the future.

　　Our long traditions came spectacularly alive here in our school last week during the great Candlelight welcome show and ceremony. As we lit the bright flame of learning that shines brightly in our school throughout the whole year, the whole community was inspired to join in and always try our best to make this 130th MacDuffie year the best one ever in our long history.

　　就在上周，我們舉辦的燭光之夜迎新晚會(huì)，讓美達(dá)菲這一悠久的傳統(tǒng)在天津校區(qū)得以生動(dòng)體現(xiàn)。我們點(diǎn)亮了學(xué)習(xí)的火焰，就此照亮了整個(gè)學(xué)年，全體師生都積極加入其中，竭盡全力讓美達(dá)菲的130周年成為歷史上最偉大的一年。

　　As we know, Candlelight is always a whole community event and ours in Tianjin MacDuffie was certainly a true showcase for the wide range of excellence across our whole school. From the talented student performers, to the amazing hosts, the teachers, leaders, speakers, parents and guests - everyone agreed it was a very special night, and one to remember for many years to come. Go Mustangs!
