Different from many other international schools, Shanghai IVY School offers a number of curricula: the AP & A-Level integrated curriculum, the DSE curriculum, the EJU curriculum, and the art integrated curriculum. In short, there is not only one pathway for further studies, but there are multiple tracks at IVY, and parents and students can choose the one according to their own needs.
與眾多國際學校不同,上海常青藤學校開設了多個課程:以英美升學方向為主的AP、A-Level融合課程,以香港新加坡大學方向的DSE課程、以日本大學方向的EJU課程以及以全球頂尖藝術學院方向的藝術融合課程。簡而言之,在上海常青藤學校不是只有一條升學通道可以走,而是多個升學通道,家長與學生可以根據自身特點自行選擇。
A variety of curricula have been properly designed to be accessible and challenging for all the students. Therefore, we have a strong belief that through the courses and subjects you study here and through your involvement in the extra-curricular activities we offer at the school, you will be equipped with all the essential knowledge and skills that are required in order to thrive in this ever-changing complex world.
我校的各類課程都經過了精心設計,極具趣味性與挑戰(zhàn)性。我相信,通過在本校的學習與課外活動,每一位學生都將具備應對這個瞬息萬變時代所需的基本知識和技能。
Following the tradition of the house system in England, our school has established five houses: STEM House, Finance House, Health House, Art House, and Education House. Each house consists of students of different grades, and, based on personal features, all freshmen will be selected by the houses after admission. The management model is implemented within the house system through the election of cadres. Each house has a captain and a vice-captain to jointly manage the house. The school has academic credits, which are accumulated in the span of an academic year. Students take the house as an opportunity to earn credits by participating in various activities and competitions and striving on behalf of the house, and will also be rewarded for good behavior. The establishment of the house system is not only a viable introduction of British elite culture, but also an innovative attempt to help students develop leadership skills and increase teamwork awareness.
我校秉承英國學院制(House)傳統(tǒng),設立了五個學院:STEM學院、金融科技學院、健康醫(yī)學院、音樂藝術學院和教育文化學院。每個學院由不同年級的學生組成,新生入學后被分到各自學院。學院制內部實行級長管理模式通過選舉學院干部,每個學院設有一位級長 (Captain)和一位副級長 (Vice-captain),共同進行學院管理。學校設有學院積分,以學年為單位進行累加。學生以學院為單位參加各類活動、競技,為各自的學院爭取榮譽,而當學生在日常行為中領到處分,也會在學院積分中得以體現。采用學院制,既是一種對精英文化的傳承,也是一種“以老生帶新生”的創(chuàng)新嘗試,有助于培養(yǎng)學生的領導力,發(fā)掘領袖特質。同時,可以強化學生的集體榮譽感,提高團隊合作意識。
The school is preparing for the accreditation of Cognia, the world's largest non-profit community of education professionals. If a school is accredited by Cognia, it means that the school has reached the top educational level in terms of constant self-renovation, evaluation, student participation, campus culture construction, effective learning environment, educational information data, education and teaching management and administrative management, and that the school is on par with the world's outstanding international schools.
我校正在申請全球最大的非營利性國際學校權威認證機構Cognia 的認證。一所學校如果能夠通過Cognia權威認證,意味著該所學校無論是辦學質量的改進、評估、學生參與、校園文化建設、有效學習環(huán)境和教育信息數據方面,還是教育教學管理和行政管理方面都達到了全球教育發(fā)展趨勢和挑戰(zhàn)的衡量標準,也就意味著該國際學校齊駕于全球優(yōu)秀的國際學校行列,與全球優(yōu)秀的教育為伍。
The school is now a candidate institution for the IB Career-related Program. Different from the IBPYP, the IBMYP, and the IBDP, the IBCP centers on developing students' career-related abilities, aiming to provide a solid academic and practical foundation for students to prepare for further study and future employment. The IBCP provides an alternative path for students who want to enter the workplace directly or who are temporarily unable to complete the IBDP courses. Since its launch, it has been favored by many IB schools around the world.
同時,我校已經獲得了IBCP項目的候選人資格。與IBPYP小學項目、IBMYP中學項目、IBDP國際文憑項目不同,IBCP項目關注發(fā)展學生與職業(yè)相關的能力,旨在從學術和實踐兩方面打好學生的基礎,為進一步的學習或就業(yè)做好準備。IBCP項目為有想法直接進入職場或者暫時沒有辦法能力勝任IBDP課程的學生提供了另類教育途徑,自推出便受到全球范圍內多所IB學校的熱捧。
The school will integrate the Chinese language and culture into the courses and the overall teaching practices. As an educator, I have a strong belief that we have a responsibility to provide our students with a school environment that has the Chinese customs and traditions as its core values and incorporates those with international curricula that enhances access to global perspectives.
我校還將中國語言和文化融入課程體系和整體教學實踐之中。我認為,構建一所以中國優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化為基礎的當代國際學校是我的使命與責任,學生們將傳承中國優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化,擁有全球視野。
I would also like to emphasize that the teaching environment I adorn is a surrounding where the interaction between teachers and students is strong and interesting. Teachers should seek the respect and love of students in a disciplined classroom. Only by combining teaching and learning with fun, the teacher can improve classroom efficiency and inspire students' enthusiasm for learning.
我還想強調一點,我推崇的教學環(huán)境是一種師生互動的教學環(huán)境,教師在把控課堂紀律的基礎上,更要尋求學生的尊重與喜愛。寓教于樂,寓學于趣,方可有效提高學習效率,調動學生學習積極性。

小編還就目前新留學形勢的重大變革采訪了這位常青藤融合高中部新校長,他有著自己獨特的見解與策略:
國內中學生在學習上所花的時間幾乎是美國學生所花時間的兩倍,他們入學時提交的各種標化考試成績也遠超美國學生。但是進入大學后,你會發(fā)現不少國內學生后勁明顯低于美國學生。他經常思考是什么原因導致這些優(yōu)秀的學生到國外后迅速變得平庸甚至迷失自我,完全沒有方向。后來慢慢發(fā)現,非常重要的一點是不少學生其實并沒有真正做好出國留學的準備。
很多學生包括家長都認為只要托福、雅思能考高分未來去英美等國家讀書就不會存在語言上的問題。托福、雅思這些標準化語言考試更多的還是側重考試,按照一定的方法規(guī)律去訓練,是容易考到高分的。但是到了國外,面臨的挑戰(zhàn)并不是語言類的標準化考試,而是語言的應用和各種文化的沖突。能否用英文寫出高質量的學術論文,能否在全英文環(huán)境下跟來自不同國家,擁有不同文化的學生友好相處,這些能力是國內學生普遍欠缺的。
如果我們培養(yǎng)的學生只會考試、只關注分數,欠缺解決問題的能力。那我覺得高中三年,學生的收獲是極有限的。比起分數,我更關注學生能力的真正提升,這才是學校給予學生最大的幫助。所以應聚焦雙語(英語和漢語)、雙能(學習能力和創(chuàng)新能力)、雙文化(中華民族優(yōu)秀文化和世界先進科技文化)素養(yǎng)目標,希望每一位走出去的學生都陽光自信,充滿求知欲和好奇心。

常青藤產教融合新校區(qū)
上海常青藤學校融合高中部創(chuàng)建于2013年,是上海首批開設“美高AP”課程的國際課程學校,目前學校為中國學生提供優(yōu)質的英美大學雙申Alevel+AP課程及亞洲DSE+EJU課程(新加坡、香港、澳門、日本)、雙軌制藝術高中課程(美術、音樂、戲劇編導)。高中部已有六屆的畢業(yè)生,錄取世界各地名校,如美國西北大學、哥大、維克森林、紐約大學、加州圣巴巴拉分校、倫斯理工大學、頂尖文理學院南衛(wèi)理工大學、加拿大多倫多大學、麥吉爾大學、英國倫敦大學學院、英國杜倫大學、曼徹斯特大學、澳洲悉尼大學、墨爾本大學、瑞士酒店管理大學、香港大學、日本筑波大學等。
