上海更新學(xué)校學(xué)子參加洛杉磯冬令營活動(dòng)

上海更新學(xué)校中學(xué)部一行學(xué)生在寒假期間有機(jī)會(huì)去到加利福尼亞的洛杉磯進(jìn)行為期23天的冬令營。此行的目的主要是讓學(xué)生們能夠提前體驗(yàn)在美國的學(xué)習(xí)和生活。孩子們的行程中包括參加當(dāng)?shù)貙W(xué)校的課程，與當(dāng)?shù)氐拿绹鴮W(xué)生一起上課，并且有機(jī)會(huì)入住當(dāng)?shù)氐募乃藜彝ヅc他們一起生活。這樣的經(jīng)歷不但幫助孩子們與當(dāng)?shù)氐募彝ソ⒂颜x，并且能更近距離的感受美國的文化和生活方式。在與美國家庭相處的過程中，孩子們也很積極踴躍的與當(dāng)?shù)氐募彝シ窒碇袊膫鹘y(tǒng)文化。
A group of our middle school students had the opportunity to take a trip to Los Angeles, California over the New Year break. The goal of this trip was to give students a taste of what it would be like to study abroad. They took time to learn in local schools and stayed with local host families. This allowed them to build stronger friendships with their local buddies and the families that opened up their homes to them. It was a time where they were fully immersed in American culture and language. As well as being immersed in American culture they got the chance to share about Chinese culture and teach their hosts about what life in China is like.
天去洛杉磯不同的地方郊游和探索當(dāng)?shù)氐娘L(fēng)土民情。學(xué)生們?cè)谶@期間還參觀了迪士尼樂園、環(huán)球影城、農(nóng)場、科學(xué)博物館等地方。
Each day TAS students had three in class days with the American students and two outing days where they went to different places in Los Angeles. Students were able to visit places like Disneyland, Universal Studios, Farms, Science Museums, etc.
在參觀農(nóng)場的時(shí)候，學(xué)生們一起了解了美國內(nèi)戰(zhàn)。他們?cè)谵r(nóng)場的環(huán)境中再次一起回顧美國歷史。更好的讓孩子們學(xué)習(xí)美國的文化和歷史事件。
At the farm students studies the American Civil War. They were able to reenact this historical event to better understand its history and the culture back then.
在參觀科學(xué)博物館的時(shí)候，學(xué)生們見到了各種充滿科技感和創(chuàng)造力的科技展品和演示。最令學(xué)生們興奮的是他們能夠近距離的了解宇宙飛船的構(gòu)造。
At the science museum they were able to visit many different exhibits and demonstrations. Students were most excited when they were able to learn about the spacecraft.
學(xué)生們隨后參觀了加州大學(xué)爾灣分校，在那里他們有機(jī)會(huì)參加大學(xué)里形式各樣的活動(dòng)。其中一項(xiàng)最讓學(xué)生們印象深刻的是在學(xué)校體育館進(jìn)行的團(tuán)隊(duì)建設(shè)活動(dòng)。
Students then took a tour of the University of California, Irvine where they were able to take part in a variety of activities. One of which was a team building activity in the gymnasium of the University.
學(xué)生們?cè)趯W(xué)習(xí)和探索美國的生活中度過了一段美好的時(shí)光。他們非常珍惜與當(dāng)?shù)厝艘黄鹛剿髀迳即壍慕?jīng)歷。這也是他們將終生難忘的時(shí)刻，我們也很高興把學(xué)生們洛杉磯之行的見聞與所有人分享!
