本周在協(xié)和教科校區(qū)舉行了融合課程部6年級(jí)家校之夜。在新學(xué)年伊始,我們希望通過此次活動(dòng),能讓家長們充分了解學(xué)校的教育理念及孩子在校的學(xué)習(xí)情況,并為家校溝通創(chuàng)造一個(gè)良好的開端。

The first Parent Mixer for Grade 6 was held this week at SUIS Jiaoke Campus. Its aim was to introduce new parents to the school’s education philosophy and promote communication between parents and teachers.

活動(dòng)一開始,首先由EMW兩位聯(lián)合副校長Adam Flower先生和奚愷菁女士帶領(lǐng)大家從宏觀的角度認(rèn)識(shí)融合課程。他們?yōu)榇蠹抑v述了EMW的愿景和使命。在EMW,每一位成員都用心營造充滿關(guān)愛和啟迪的氛圍,通過綜合性教學(xué)、學(xué)院制管理以及多維度的評(píng)價(jià)方式,讓學(xué)生的品格和學(xué)術(shù)得以健康自由地發(fā)展。我們把世界當(dāng)成課堂,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生積極探究、發(fā)展?jié)撃?、服?wù)社會(huì),培養(yǎng)既有濃厚的中國文化底蘊(yùn),又有國際視野的跨文化能力的未來全球公民。

At the commencement of our event, Mr. Adam Flower and Ms. Cindy Xi, Co-Vice Principals of SUIS JKEMW, introduced our vision and mission. At EMW, we aspire to create a caring and inspiring community. Through comprehensive teaching, house systems, and multiple evaluation styles, we enable students to develop healthily, enjoy their new-found freedom, and gain wisdom. We make society at large our classroom and help students to actively explore and develop their potential within that scope. We hope that they can grow into responsible global citizens that combine a strong Chinese cultural heritage with an international perspective.

學(xué)生管理處主任李娜老師帶領(lǐng)著6年級(jí)學(xué)生管理團(tuán)隊(duì)和大家見面。家長們第一次見到了孩子的年級(jí)組長和班主任,對(duì)他們有了初步的了解。

李老師說,學(xué)生管理團(tuán)隊(duì)會(huì)時(shí)刻關(guān)注學(xué)生的適應(yīng)情況,及時(shí)給予幫助和支持,希望6年級(jí)新生能順利完成小學(xué)到初中的過渡。我們的團(tuán)隊(duì)一直在努力讓每一個(gè)學(xué)生感到自己是在一個(gè)安全的、受重視的、被鼓勵(lì)的校園環(huán)境中學(xué)習(xí)和成長。

Lina Li, Dean of Students, introduced G6’s pastoral team to parents. Parents were happy to meet their kids’ Head of Grade and mentors.

The pastoral team will always be there to encourage and support the students, and help them successfully complete the transition from primary school to junior middle school. The whole team strives tirelessly to ensure that students feel secure, know that they are valued, and are encouraged in their learning, growth and social development, all within a safe environment.

教學(xué)處主任Zahid Iqbal先生就EMW的教學(xué)目標(biāo)、課程特色以及評(píng)價(jià)體系進(jìn)行了詳細(xì)的講解?!凹w責(zé)任感推動(dòng)成功”。Iqbal先生認(rèn)為每一位教育工作者都有傳道授業(yè)解惑的責(zé)任,每一位學(xué)生需要擔(dān)負(fù)起一名學(xué)習(xí)者的責(zé)任,同時(shí)我們也需要每一位家長協(xié)助學(xué)校起到督促和提醒的作用。只有共同努力,才能收獲最后的成功。

在課程設(shè)置方面,EMW以扎實(shí)的教學(xué)為基礎(chǔ),將英語學(xué)習(xí)滲透在各個(gè)學(xué)科中。除了必修課之外,我們還為學(xué)生提供豐富多元的拓展課,尊重學(xué)生的差異化和個(gè)性化。

在學(xué)生評(píng)價(jià)體系方面,我們采用多樣化、多維度的評(píng)價(jià)方式,形成性評(píng)價(jià)和終結(jié)性評(píng)價(jià)相結(jié)合,并通過HUB學(xué)生管理系統(tǒng)進(jìn)行記錄和跟蹤學(xué)生的成長。不唯成績論的評(píng)價(jià)體系,給學(xué)生展示自己提供更多的渠道,鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生能自主思考并不斷創(chuàng)新。

Mr. Zahid Iqbal, Dean of Academics, gave a detailed introduction to the teaching objectives, curriculum features, and assessment methods employed in EMW. “Collective responsibility drives success,” said Mr. Iqbal, who believes that every educator has the responsibility, not only of preaching and teaching, but also of dispelling doubts, while every student also needs to shoulder the responsibility of becoming a good learner. At the same time, we need parental support. Only by working together can we reap the ultimate rewards of our success.

In terms of curriculum, EMW is based on solid teaching foundation and English learning permeates into almost every subject. In addition to the core subjects, we also provide students with rich and diversified additional subjects, ECAs and CECs, to cater for different students with different interests.

In relation to evaluation, we adopt a diversified and multi-dimensional evaluation system, employing a variety of methods, combining formative evaluation and summative evaluation, which allows us to effectively record and track students' growth through our HUBmis System. The evaluation system at EMW does not only focus on academic achievements, but rather provides more opportunities for students to display their personal growth, and encourages students to think independently and innovate continuously.

各學(xué)科帶頭人和各學(xué)科老師也一一和大家見面。從他們極富個(gè)性的自我介紹中,我們相信這些經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的中外教老師一定會(huì)將真正國際教育的精髓帶給學(xué)生,為學(xué)生提供多元文化的學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境。

After that, the Heads of Departments briefly introduced each department and the relevant subject teachers. Based on their introductions, we believe that these experienced Chinese and Foreign Teachers will bring with them the true essence of real international education and provide students with a multicultural learning environment.

在家校溝通環(huán)節(jié),家長們將自己的疑問與老師進(jìn)行直接的溝通。看到家長們的熱情參與,我們也感受到了他們對(duì)于孩子教育的重視與關(guān)注,這也是舉辦本次家校之夜的初衷。

The Parent Mixer provided a good opportunity for parents of new students to raise questions and communicate with their children’s teachers. Active parent engagement shows they take their kids’ education seriously, and this is one of the reasons why we hold the Parent Mixer annually.

中學(xué)階段每門課程都有專業(yè)學(xué)科背景的老師授課。小學(xué)階段通常是一名老師教授多門課程。因此中學(xué)階段的學(xué)生會(huì)一年中遇到多位不同學(xué)科的教師,學(xué)年結(jié)束后,會(huì)更換學(xué)科老師。

上海協(xié)和雙語高級(jí)中學(xué)入學(xué)學(xué)生能夠進(jìn)行單獨(dú)的音樂輔導(dǎo)嗎?

根據(jù)學(xué)生自己的意愿,與音樂輔導(dǎo)老師預(yù)約時(shí)間上課。GCSE或IB的學(xué)生選修音樂課的,需要熟練掌握一門樂器以及在現(xiàn)有的音樂課時(shí)的基礎(chǔ)上增加額外專業(yè)訓(xùn)練,可選擇進(jìn)行單獨(dú)的音樂輔導(dǎo)。

上海協(xié)和雙語高級(jí)中學(xué)入學(xué)測試會(huì)考英語水平嗎?

為了檢驗(yàn)學(xué)生的英語能力是否適應(yīng)他們將要入學(xué)的年級(jí),入學(xué)考試英語部分包括了筆試和口試。如果結(jié)果顯示學(xué)生的英語能力明顯低于入學(xué)要求,我們會(huì)建議家長送孩子去英語培訓(xùn)機(jī)構(gòu)學(xué)習(xí),等孩子的英語水平提高后再次參加入學(xué)考試,如果通過就可以和同年級(jí)的學(xué)生一起上課。
