今天GJXX小編搜羅了上海燎原雙語學(xué)校兄妹:從小學(xué)到高中的燎原,是回憶中的“快樂星球”希望給擇校的家長們提供參考。

作為一座K12一貫制雙語學(xué)校,燎原學(xué)校為每一位學(xué)子提供從小學(xué)到高中的連貫學(xué)習(xí)和成長土壤。在近期,我們很高興邀請到兩位從小學(xué)起就在燎原雙語就讀的兄妹,聽聽他們?yōu)楹芜x擇燎原以及那些在燎原的美好回憶。

As a 1 to 12 bilingual school, LYBS offers continuous learning opportunities and development support to every student from primary to high school. We're thrilled to share the stories and fond memories of two siblings who have attended LYBS since primary school.

校園不僅是學(xué)習(xí)的場所,也是每個人成長環(huán)境中的重要組成,不論是誰都會在“小學(xué)、中學(xué)、高中”留下青春中最美好的回憶。
School is not only a place for learning, but also an important part of everyone's upbringing, which always brings the best memories of your youth in primary, middle and high school.

如果有這樣一所學(xué)校,她能夠從小鍛煉個人的獨(dú)立能力,在學(xué)業(yè)上保持一貫制的教授方法,并且在最終的升學(xué)給予順暢的支持,還能夠令孩子結(jié)交到長久的朋友,是否會有許多美好回憶呢?

Is there a school that trains individuals to be independent from an early age, maintain a consistent approach to academics, and provide smooth support in their final destination to universities and life in the future, as well as make lasting friendships?

小學(xué)步入燎原,一個鍛煉獨(dú)立的地方

哥哥2017年燎原畢業(yè),目前于澳洲就讀大學(xué)

妹妹目前就讀燎原國際課程班高一年級

上午11點(diǎn)左右,哥哥聶浩杰(Brant)和妹妹聶心如(Jennie)兩人在父親的陪伴下,專程來到學(xué)校和我們聊了聊他們在燎原學(xué)校的記憶。

At around 11:00 am, Brant and Jennie, accompanied by their father, came to school to share their memories at LYBS. 

妹妹Jennie身材嬌小、略顯害羞,哥哥Brant個頭高大、談吐大方。兩人一個剛結(jié)束近期的高一考試,一個則在大學(xué)假期海外歸來,在燎原高中的圖書館里,開啟了一場輕松的對話。

Jennie is shy, while Brant is more talkative. One had just finished her senior year exams and the other had returned from Canada while on college break, and they both started a light-hearted conversation in the LYBS secondary library.


盡管身為大學(xué)生和高中生的兩人,對小初的記憶略顯模糊,但一提到剛?cè)肓窃菚r記憶最深的事,都不約而同地提到了“寄宿”。

As college and high school students respectively, their memories of elementary school are a bit fuzzy, but when it comes to what they remember most about their first days at LYBS, they both mention "boarding". 

“我們兩個都是從小學(xué)開始就在燎原學(xué)校的,最初入學(xué)燎原是父母的安排,小學(xué)開始寄宿這件事真的挺有挑戰(zhàn)的,特別能培養(yǎng)獨(dú)立能力?!盉rant的說法,Jennie也表示同意。

"Both of us have been at LYBS since elementary school, and our initial enrollment was arranged by our parents, so it was really challenging to start boarding in elementary school, especially till we become independent, and Brant's statement was echoed by Jennie.

這段久遠(yuǎn)的回憶,不免讓人聯(lián)想到每當(dāng)放學(xué)后,校園內(nèi)在宿舍與食堂間穿梭的那些小學(xué)生。稚嫩的身軀有時背著大大的書包,走起路來慢慢悠悠,或三三兩兩,或單獨(dú)一個,在黃昏中匆匆忙忙地趕往校園的各處,這些“小不點(diǎn)”們雖然看起來“萌萌”的,但寄宿的小學(xué)生個個都眼中透著“堅強(qiáng)”二字。

This long-ago memory reminds us of those students who shuttle between the dormitory and the cafeteria on campus after school. The young bodies, sometimes carrying large school bags, walking slowly, in twos, threes, or alone, hurrying to various places on campus in the dusk, these "little ones" may look "cute", but all the boarding students have the word "strong" in their eyes.

當(dāng)被問到小學(xué)寄宿中最大的挑戰(zhàn),兩人又都提到了“想家”,Brant笑稱:“那時候就特別想回去,小朋友嘛,慣用伎倆就是裝病?!睂τ贐rant的小計謀,辛苦的倒是醫(yī)務(wù)室老師們。

When

asked about the biggest challenge boarding in the school presented to

them, both mentioned "homesickness", and Brant laughed: "I wanted to go

back, and the usual trick for kids is to pretend to be sick". For

Brant's little scheme, it was the infirmary staff who had a hard time.

這又喚起了他小學(xué)的記憶說:“醫(yī)務(wù)室的老師對學(xué)生很照顧,那時候宿管老師也很負(fù)責(zé)。” Jennie補(bǔ)充說:“學(xué)校里的宿管老師,不會讓學(xué)生睡太晚,為了保證睡眠質(zhì)量。”就這樣,兄妹兩人周一到周五就在這蔥郁翠綠的校園里學(xué)習(xí)、生活著,仿佛另一個家。

This brings back his elementary school memories saying, "the nurses in the infirmary took care of the students, and the resident teachers were also very responsible at that time." Jennie adds, "The resident teachers at school wouldn't let the students sleep too late, to ensure quality sleep." So, the two siblings studied and lived on the lush, green campus Monday through Friday, as if it were another home away from home.

高中邁向全球,人生處處皆舞臺

Life is a stage

從小學(xué)到初中再到高中,兄妹兩人的青春大部分時間就在燎原學(xué)校中度過。就這樣,兩人的自覺性、獨(dú)立性被漸漸磨練出來。除了寄宿制生活給他們留下的印象,學(xué)校的學(xué)習(xí)氛圍也令兄妹兩人記憶猶新。

From elementary school through middle school to high school, the two siblings spent most of their youth at LYBS. Their self-awareness and independence were gradually honed. In addition to the impression that boarding life left on them, the school's learning atmosphere was also memorable for both siblings.

兄妹校園生活

“我記得那時候,學(xué)校對語言環(huán)境要求很嚴(yán)格!” Brant說到:“就是上英文課上是不允許說中文的,No Chinese。”聽到哥哥的說辭,Jennie連忙糾正到:“現(xiàn)在不是這樣的啦,還是可以說中文的?!痹趯W(xué)業(yè)支持方面,寄宿學(xué)生晚自習(xí)期間,學(xué)校會專門安排老師幫助指導(dǎo),這點(diǎn)也對Brant的學(xué)業(yè)有很大幫助。

"I remember back then the school was very strict about English learning!" Brant said, "It means that you are not allowed to speak Chinese in English classes, No Chinese!" Hearing her brother's words, Jennie quickly corrected, "It's not like that now. You can still speak Chinese." In terms of academic support, the school arranges teachers to help guide boarding students during their evening study sessions, which also helped Brant's academic performance.

當(dāng)然,除了學(xué)校的支持,也離不開學(xué)生自己的努力,在高中階段兩人都會通過積累詞匯和英語授課環(huán)境,來提高自己的語言能力。

Of course, in addition to the school's support, the students also work hard to improve their language skills by building up their vocabulary and English-taught environment during high school.

兩人的努力,也得到了老師們的認(rèn)可,對于尚在學(xué)校就讀的妹妹Jennie,她的ESL老師Jennifer說:“Jennie的性格很好,文字和閱讀能力也很強(qiáng),她九年級轉(zhuǎn)入國際高中上了一個學(xué)期后,就可以升10年級精英班了。”在生活中,Jennie也喜歡發(fā)現(xiàn)新奇有趣的小店,自己對新媒體比較熱衷。她也想向哥哥看齊,在大學(xué)階段能夠去海外求學(xué),為此正在考慮將來轉(zhuǎn)入燎原高中的IB DP項(xiàng)目?!拔覍B DP項(xiàng)目中的心理學(xué)很感興趣?!?Jennie說。

The two have been recognized by their teachers for their efforts. The ESL teacher of Jennie who is still at LYBS remembers, "Jennie has a great personality and strong writing and reading skills, and she is ready to move up to Grade 10 advanced class after she transferred to English Division for one semester in Grade 9 from National High School." In life, Jennie also likes to discover new and interesting mini stores, and is more enthusiastic about news media herself. She also wants to look to her brother to be able to study in universities overseas, and to that end is considering of transferring to the IB DP programme at LYBS in the future. "I'm really interested in psychology in the IB DP programme." Jennie said.

熱愛籃球的Brant天性好運(yùn)動,除了運(yùn)之外還喜歡和朋友自駕旅游,在旅途中不斷開拓眼見。在2017年,Brant從加拿大班畢業(yè)去了澳洲的科廷大學(xué)(Curtin University)就讀,這是一所澳大利亞西海岸規(guī)模最大的綜合性大學(xué),全澳名列榜首的綜合性科技大學(xué)。Brant說:“我就讀的是商科,因?yàn)楸容^想像我父親那樣,從事地產(chǎn)、園區(qū)開發(fā)類的工作?!?/p>

A basketball enthusiast by nature, Brant also enjoys traveling by car with friends in addition to sports, expanding his horizons along the way. In 2017, Brant graduated from the LYBS Canada programme and went to Curtin University in Australia, the largest comprehensive university on the west coast and top-ranked comprehensive technology university in the country. said, "I studied business because I wanted to work in real estate and park development like my father."

毋庸置疑,兄妹兩人都走向了全球舞臺,并在學(xué)業(yè)有成后發(fā)揮自己的所長。不論是在國內(nèi)跟隨父親的行業(yè),還是選擇在海外繼續(xù)深造或就業(yè),未來有更多選擇和可能性在等待著他們。在燎原雙語學(xué)校一貫制教育環(huán)境中萌芽的他們,勢必會繼續(xù)茁壯成長,在全人教育的理念中,成為最好的自己。

It goes without saying that both siblings have gone on to the global stage and are making the most of their academic success. Whether they follow their father's profession in China or choose to pursue further education or employment overseas, many more options and possibilities await them in the future. They are bound to continue to thrive as a result of the education provided at LYBS and become their best selves under any circumstances in the future.

We were, still are and will always be immensely proud of them!
