　　As the majority of students get high scores in SAT, TOEFL and other standardized examinations, some other subject competitions which can reflect students' unique advantages have become a stepping stone to enter world famous schools. AMC is one of the most prominent competitions.

　　With the permission of the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) and the British Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) has been introduced into Tianjin Grace International School. On September 26th, Grace's students seriously challenged this international top mathematics competition!

　　Inside Grace, the offline examination of AMC is in order.

　　Students must strictly obey the epidemic prevention and examination discipline. Before entering examination room, students should cooperate with the invigilators to test their body temperature. After admission, they should follow invigilators' arrangement and be quiet when answering examination papers.

Why to attend the AMC ?

　　AMC is a mathematics competition in which global students participate most in the world. Through AMC competition test, many excellent mathematics talents can be picked out. To a certain extent, it is also an examination for world famous schools to select mathematics talents. The experience of winning the AMC competition award also gives students superiority to apply for G5 and other famous schools.

　　Stuart Schmill, the admissions officer at MIT, once said that more activities do not mean the better. The quality is more important than the quantity. It is better to take part in only one activity with high recognition than to participate 10 extracurricular activities with no prominent emphasis. The competition in mathematics is one of the most popular activities.

　　On the other hand, AMC, in some degree, deepens the students' understanding of the basic knowledge of mathematics, cultivates their mathematical research literacy, and produces a long-term impact on students' college study and life in the future.

　　As an officially authorized school of AMC, Grace hopes to further stimulate students' interest in mathematics and motivation of accepting challenges through this competition. Also through the experience, students' comprehensive ability of English and mathematics can be cultivated and their logical thinking ability can be strengthened. 　　經(jīng)澳大利亞數(shù)學(xué)協(xié)會(huì)（AMT）與英國(guó)素質(zhì)教育發(fā)展認(rèn)證中心（ASDAN）的許可，澳大利亞數(shù)學(xué)競(jìng)賽（AMC）已入駐天津格瑞思學(xué)校，9月26日，格瑞思學(xué)子正式向這場(chǎng)國(guó)際頂尖數(shù)學(xué)賽事發(fā)起挑戰(zhàn)！

　　參賽學(xué)生需嚴(yán)格遵守防疫和考試紀(jì)律，積極配合監(jiān)考老師進(jìn)行測(cè)試體溫后進(jìn)入考場(chǎng)，入場(chǎng)后安靜答題，聽從監(jiān)考老師安排。

為什么要參加AMC考試？

　　AMC是全球?qū)W生參與最多的一個(gè)數(shù)學(xué)競(jìng)賽，通過AMC競(jìng)賽測(cè)試，可以選拔出很多優(yōu)秀的數(shù)學(xué)人才，在一定程度上，這也是為世界名校選拔數(shù)學(xué)人才的一個(gè)考試。AMC競(jìng)賽獲獎(jiǎng)經(jīng)歷還是同學(xué)們申請(qǐng)G5等名校含金量極高的砝碼。

　　麻省理工的招生官Stuart Schmill曾說過，活動(dòng)并非越多越好，質(zhì)量重于數(shù)量。重點(diǎn)不突出的10個(gè)課外活動(dòng)，不如只參加一個(gè)有含金量的活動(dòng)。而數(shù)學(xué)方面的競(jìng)賽則是備受青睞的一種。

　　從另一方面來說，AMC在一定程度上加深了同學(xué)們對(duì)數(shù)學(xué)基礎(chǔ)知識(shí)的理解，培養(yǎng)了大家的數(shù)學(xué)研究素養(yǎng)，對(duì)大家在以后的大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)生活具有長(zhǎng)遠(yuǎn)的影響。
