The protagonist of this wonderful class is Lynn Liao from 12AC. Lynn is a delicate and sensitive girl with a dream of becoming a writer. Writing poetry became a way to release emotion in her life. "Poetry is a record of life and an expression of love," she said.

在一次中文課堂任務(wù)中,Lynn將自己的詩歌改編成了繪本,在一幅幅畫面中再次感受到這位詩歌少女的無限魅力。

In a Chinese class assignment, Lynn adapted her poetry into a picture book, and once again felt the infinite charm of this poetic girl in one picture after another.

創(chuàng)作前提Premise of creation

作家曹文軒說,在我們的精神世界里有一堵白墻,在這上面智慧的人類以自己的雄心和造物者展開了競賽,創(chuàng)造了可以與上帝創(chuàng)造的世界相媲美的另一個世界。

莽明敏老師在課上教授學(xué)習(xí)小說的想象與虛構(gòu)這一專題時,在“實踐篤行”環(huán)節(jié)為同學(xué)們提出了一個“造夢”的任務(wù)——創(chuàng)作繪本,描繪一個屬于自己的故事。

When teacher Mang Mingmin taught the topic of imagination and fiction in the class, she put forward a task of "dream making" for the students in the link of "practice and practice" -- to create a picture book to describe a story of their own.

Lynn的創(chuàng)作靈感 Inspiration for creation

If earthworms are at risk when they leave the soil, why do they crawl out every rainy day? I wrote this poem with this suspicion, "What calls me, also kills me."

Apparently this is because I don't know what an earthworm really thinks. "There is only one kind of heroism, is to recognize the truth of life and still love life." This quote from Romain Rolland is one of my tenets in life.

"The Dream of an Earthworm" is a more complete interpretation of what is a dreamer than "The Earthworm Said". "Brave" is not blind, but a kind of repeated failure, when you know the truth, when you know the consequences of what you do, you are still willing to go without hesitation. Just like the earthworm in the story, his dream is to climb on the ground, he longs for the moistening of rain, he longs to see the beautiful and colorful world on the soil, he thinks his dream is bigger than the result which may be tragic. So he would die "for you a thousand times over," even if willingly. So the earthworm actually knows that "what calls me kills me", but he still answers the call willingly. This is what I want to express in this picture book.

這個任務(wù)讓我充分看到了同學(xué)們成為“準(zhǔn)造物者”的潛力,當(dāng)同學(xué)們乘上造夢的船,以想象為帆,以虛構(gòu)為槳,在創(chuàng)作的河流里長風(fēng)破浪之時,廖湘寧的繪本故事《蚯蚓的夢》仿佛一只被靈感之光照亮的小船,穿越了“河的第三條岸”。勇敢的蚯蚓被走上地面的夢想召喚,不惜付出被現(xiàn)實扼殺的代價,這對于每一個在追夢的漫漫長路上努力前行的少年來說,又何嘗不是一種鼓舞呢?

This task allowed me to fully see the potential of the students to become "quasi creators". 此外,近期Lynn的原創(chuàng)詩歌《Fallen Leaf》在2022 Youth writing competiton中獲得了二等獎的好成績。

Lynn is an excellent writer. There's a lot of emotional honesty in her work. She isn't afraid to express herself. She is especially strong at creating vivid and memorable images based on natural elements.

I asked Lynn to translate her work into English which was challenging for her but valuable to see it in a different language. It helped show up strengths and weaknesses. Then we practiced reading her work which was part of the competition. She needed to work on intonation and dramatic emphasis.

Lynn is a very sensitive and determined person. She knows what she wants to be in the future: a writer. Hopefully her success will encourage her to grow in confidence and creativity. China may have a wonderful new writer to celebrate soon!

Q1你的詩歌靈感大多都源于哪里?每次都是在怎樣的心境下寫下自己的作品?

Where do you get most of your poetry inspiration from? In what mood do you write your works each time?

Lynn:

我的創(chuàng)作一般源于自己的生活。個人生活經(jīng)歷、閱讀過的作品、精神疾病、大自然、生命中每個精彩的瞬間,這些都作為我的取材對象。靈感來的時機很隨性,我或是看見一輪月亮掛在樹梢上,或是正浸泡在某種情緒里。我寫下《落葉》的時候,還沒被第二次疾病剝奪情感能力,那時我享受寫長篇抒情詩,寫作過程沉浸在情感與語言的交織里。詩是一種對生命的記錄,也是一種愛的表達。

My creations are usually based on my own life. Personal experiences, books I've read, mental illness, nature, every wonderful moment in my life. Inspirations come at random times. I see a moon in the treetops, or I'm in the mood. When I wrote "Fallen Leaves," before I was emotionally disabled by my second illness, I enjoyed writing long lyric poems, immersing in the interweaving of emotion and language. Poetry is a record of life and an expression of love.

Can you give a brief introduction to the award-winning work Fallen Leaf?

Lynn:《落葉》的創(chuàng)作基于我的一段單戀經(jīng)歷,一腔激情在所愛的對象那里得不到認可的時候,就只能往詩里抒發(fā)。少女純潔的向往,在詩里被比喻為葉子對風(fēng)的愛戀。從夏風(fēng)給它帶來第一縷清涼開始,風(fēng)就這樣一直吹拂著,滋潤著它的心靈,直到秋天,它在生命盡頭無怨無悔地被風(fēng)帶走。下一次看到秋風(fēng)吹落枯葉的時候,你就可以停下腳步欣賞這凄美的舞蹈,那片葉子也許就懷著《落葉》這樣一個故事。

The creation of "Fallen Leaves" is based on my experience of unrequited love. When my passion is not recognized by the object of love, it can only be expressed in the poem. The girl's pure yearning is compared to the leaf's love for the wind in the poem. From the summer breeze to bring it the first ray of cool start, the wind has been blowing, moistening its heart, until the autumn, it was taken away by the wind at the end of life without regrets. Lynn:我最向往的專業(yè)是創(chuàng)意寫作(creative writing),這是一個為培養(yǎng)作家技能存在的專業(yè)。至于大學(xué),我能去的最好最適合我的大學(xué)就是我向往的。未來希望從事創(chuàng)作行業(yè),能靠作家職業(yè)養(yǎng)活自己是再理想不過的了,然而在這個數(shù)據(jù)娛樂時代,這一般也只是理想而已,所以我認為成為文學(xué)工作者、美術(shù)工作者或編劇都很好。

The major I aspire to most is creative writing, which is a major for developing the skills of writers. As for university, the best and most suitable university I can go to is the one I yearn for. In the future, I hope to work in the creative industry, and it is ideal to make a living from the career of a writer. However, in this era of digital entertainment, this is generally just an ideal, so I think it is good to become a literary worker, an artist or a screenwriter.
