10月中旬，美國(guó)威力塔斯學(xué)校北京校區(qū)召開學(xué)期期中家長(zhǎng)會(huì)，各年級(jí)根據(jù)孩子們的特點(diǎn)分成不同的培養(yǎng)側(cè)重點(diǎn)，低年級(jí)強(qiáng)調(diào)習(xí)慣養(yǎng)成的重要性，高年級(jí)向家長(zhǎng)強(qiáng)調(diào)了標(biāo)化考試的緊迫感，畢業(yè)年級(jí)介紹了美國(guó)大學(xué)申請(qǐng)的新政策。家長(zhǎng)們作為大家庭的一員，坦誠(chéng)發(fā)言，表達(dá)了與學(xué)校合力的意愿，對(duì)學(xué)校的發(fā)展提出了殷切的期望！家長(zhǎng)會(huì)的召開，提升了家校凝聚力，逐漸形成家校聯(lián)動(dòng)力，為孩子們的成長(zhǎng)發(fā)展提供有力的保障！
In mid-october, our school held a mid-term parents' meeting that each grade has the different training focus according to the different characteristics of the children, as the lower grades emphasized the importance of habit formation, and the senior grades stressed the urgency of the standardized examinations to the parents, while the graduating class introduced new college application policies in the United States. Parents, as members of Veritas family, spoke frankly, expressing the willingness to join forces with the school, and put forward ardent expectations for the development of the school! Parents meeting has enhanced the family-- school cohesion, gradually formming the power of the family-- school association, and provide a strong guarantee for the children's growth and development!
家長(zhǎng)會(huì)以班級(jí)為單位組織召開，各年級(jí)班主任首先介紹自開學(xué)以來班級(jí)學(xué)科教師隊(duì)伍、學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)生活、班級(jí)特色及日常管理等細(xì)節(jié)。接下來各班學(xué)科外教詳細(xì)展示了各學(xué)科的課程大綱、教授方式及培養(yǎng)目標(biāo)，耐心解答家長(zhǎng)關(guān)心的問題。在互動(dòng)環(huán)節(jié)，班主任及外教就學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)生活中取得的進(jìn)步及出現(xiàn)的問題與家長(zhǎng)們進(jìn)行了細(xì)致的溝通，認(rèn)真分析，提出建議，同時(shí)與家長(zhǎng)共同探討解決問題的方法。
The parents' meeting was organized for each class as the unit, and the Chinese homeroom teachers of each grade first introduced the details of the class subject teachers, students' study life, class characteristics and daily management. Next, the foreign teachers in each class presented the curriculum outline, teaching methods and training objectives of each discipline in detail, patiently answering the questions concerned by parents. In the interactive session, the Chinese homeroom teachers and the foreign teachers communicated with the parents carefully about the progress and problems in the students' study life, analyzing them carefully, putting forward suggestions, and discussed with the parents the ways to solve those problems.
10月中旬，美國(guó)高中部校長(zhǎng)Keating先生來京，在集會(huì)上Keating先生與同學(xué)們親切會(huì)面并做了主題為如何培養(yǎng)貴族氣質(zhì)的演講，教導(dǎo)同學(xué)們應(yīng)時(shí)刻注重個(gè)人言行，在合適的場(chǎng)合做合適的事情；腳踏實(shí)地從點(diǎn)滴做起；微笑面對(duì)生活中的挫折；善于捕捉生活中的真善美；注重合作意識(shí)和自律精神。
In the middle of October,Mr.Keating,Veritas high school principal,came to our school, and he gave a speech on cultivatation noble temperament, teaching students pay attention to personal words and deeds, behave well in the appropriate occasion;Start from scratch step by step; Smile at life's setbacks; Be good at capturing the truth, goodness and beauty of life; Pay attention to the consciousness of cooperation and self-discipline.
10月15日晚，曹疏野先生（蔚藍(lán)國(guó)際創(chuàng)始人之一，畢業(yè)于北京大學(xué)國(guó)際關(guān)系專業(yè)，于2016年被聯(lián)合國(guó)邀請(qǐng)出席世界青年大會(huì)，2019年被邀請(qǐng)參加美國(guó)紐約聯(lián)合國(guó)大會(huì)。參加模擬聯(lián)合國(guó)活動(dòng)及活動(dòng)組織，已有15年左右經(jīng)歷）為我校模聯(lián)社團(tuán)的同學(xué)們進(jìn)行了宣講和培訓(xùn)，講解了模擬聯(lián)合國(guó)活動(dòng)的流程及注意事項(xiàng)，并分享了個(gè)人參賽經(jīng)歷及活動(dòng)經(jīng)驗(yàn)。同學(xué)們紛紛表示在此次培訓(xùn)中受益匪淺，對(duì)模聯(lián)有了更深入的認(rèn)識(shí)，覺得并不是那么遙不可及， “期待模聯(lián)，期待相遇”！
On the evening of October 15th, Mr Cao Shuye(One of the founders of WEMUN EXPO, the organizer of MUN activities, both undergraduate and graduate students graduated from Peking University majoring in international relations, invited by the United Nations to attend the world youth assembly in 2016 and United Nations General Assembly in New York in 2019,with 15 years’ working experience in Model United Nations activities and activities organization. Mr Cao gave lectures and trainings to students of Model United Nations clubs, explaining the procedures and matters of model United Nations activities, and shared his personal experience of participating in the activities. Students said that they had benefited a lot from the training and had a deeper understanding of MUN. They felt that MUN was not so far away. “l(fā)ooking forward to MUN, looking forward to meeting”!
10 月下旬，全體師生舉行了“愛國(guó)教育、科技強(qiáng)國(guó)”主題社會(huì)實(shí)踐活動(dòng)，在專業(yè)老師帶領(lǐng)下參觀了北京新機(jī)場(chǎng)及北斗產(chǎn)業(yè)園。通過老師的耐心講解，師生們了解到北京新機(jī)場(chǎng)大興國(guó)際機(jī)場(chǎng)在施工難度及高新技術(shù)應(yīng)用上堪稱世界之最。在北斗產(chǎn)業(yè)園區(qū)，師生參觀了衛(wèi)星導(dǎo)航博物館及衛(wèi)星導(dǎo)航應(yīng)用體驗(yàn)館。現(xiàn)場(chǎng)了解了北斗高精度芯片技術(shù)及多行業(yè)智能化應(yīng)用技術(shù)，在精準(zhǔn)農(nóng)業(yè)、機(jī)械控制、測(cè)量測(cè)繪、北斗智能終端、通導(dǎo)一體化等領(lǐng)域的應(yīng)用。親身體驗(yàn)了夢(mèng)幻、神奇、驚險(xiǎn)、刺激的太空之旅，通過VR技術(shù)以航天員們的視角進(jìn)行地球觀測(cè)、模擬操控等多項(xiàng)功能體驗(yàn)！
In late October, we held a social practice activity including all the teachers and students with the ?theme of “patriotic education, strong science and technology” and visited Beijing New Airport ?International Airport and Beidou Industrial Park under the guidance of professional teachers. Through the teacher's patient explanation, the teachers and students learned that Beijing New Airport Daxing International Airport is the world's best in construction with high-tech application. In the Beidou Industrial Park, teachers and students visited the satellite navigation museum and the satellite navigation application museum. On site, they have learnt the application of Beidou High-precision Chip Technology and Multi-industry Intelligent Application Technology in precision agriculture, mechanical control, surveying and mapping, Beidou Intelligent Terminal and Integrated Communication and Navigation. All the teachers and students have experienced the dream, magic, thrilling, exciting space journey, through VR technology from the perspective of the astronauts for earth observation, simulation control and other functions !
10月22日晚本學(xué)期第一期文化下午茶活動(dòng)成功舉辦。金鐵路先生(中國(guó)徠卡專家，徠卡相機(jī)收藏家，成立亞洲第一個(gè)徠卡專賣店，國(guó)內(nèi)第一所徠卡博物館，獨(dú)立攝影師。1971年任部隊(duì)專職攝影干事。1979年轉(zhuǎn)業(yè)回京到中國(guó)新聞社攝影部任記者，1987年任中國(guó)新聞社圖片社經(jīng)理）作為本期特邀嘉賓蒞，與全校師生分享了《攝影的時(shí)間與空間》的主題內(nèi)容。金老師講解了全面新穎的攝影知識(shí)內(nèi)容，對(duì)一些國(guó)內(nèi)外優(yōu)秀攝影家的作品進(jìn)行了細(xì)致點(diǎn)評(píng)。攝影是一種視覺藝術(shù)，是記錄影像，刻畫光線的過程，是手拿起相機(jī)的你我對(duì)世界的看法和對(duì)美的認(rèn)識(shí)，讓同學(xué)們真正體驗(yàn)到攝影的樂趣，幫助他們打開“攝影之窗”是此次活動(dòng)的主旨之一。
The first cultural salon activity of this semester was successfully held on the evening of October 22nd . Mr. Jin Tielu (Chinese leica expert, leica camera collector, founded Asia's first leica store, the first leica museum in China, independent photographer. In 1971, he became a full-time photography officer of the army. In 1979, he transferred to Beijing and worked as a reporter in the photography department of China News Service. In 1987, he was the manager of the photography department of China News Service.Mr. Jin explained the comprehensive content of photography knowledge and made detailed comments on the works of some excellent photographers at home and abroad. Photography is a kind of visual art, which is the process of recording images and depicting light. It is the view of the world and beauty that you hold the cameras in hands. Let the students truly experience the fun of photography and help them open the “photography window” is one of the main themes of this activity.
10月31日，一年一度萬圣節(jié)，同學(xué)們通過各種游戲活動(dòng)了解了萬圣節(jié)的由來和習(xí)俗，了解不同的文化。對(duì)孩子們來說，過節(jié)一定是開心快樂的。下午體育課后，孩子們就開始化妝、換裝，一會(huì)兒，大家就將自己裝扮成了吸血鬼、女巫、僵尸等各種鬼怪列隊(duì)在文化藝術(shù)中心門前集合。盛裝巡游開始了，扮演鬼怪的同學(xué)在前帶路，一群小鬼尾緊隨其后，做出各種嚇人的動(dòng)作，中外教老師也加入其中，和孩子們一起扮相，游戲。最終，同學(xué)們從巡游隊(duì)伍中選出了最佳創(chuàng)意裝扮學(xué)生。孩子們玩得其樂無窮！
On October 31, the annual Halloween, students understood the origin and customs of Halloween with different cultures through a variety of games and activities. For children, the holidays shall be happy. After P.E class in the afternoon, the children began to make up and change their clothes. After a while, they dressed themselves as vampires, witches, zombies or some other ghosts and gathered in front of the Culture and Art Center. The parade started with the students playing the ghost leading the way, followed by a group of IMP, making all kinds of frightening movements. Chinese and foreign teachers also joined, dressing up and playing games with the children. Finally, students selected the best creative costume from the parade team. The children were having fun!
