時(shí)維五月,序?qū)俪跸模瑲鉁毓?jié)節(jié)攀升。在上海燎原的階梯教室里,中國(guó)智慧組組織的知識(shí)競(jìng)賽正在如火如荼地進(jìn)行著,同學(xué)們爭(zhēng)先恐后搶答的激烈場(chǎng)面,比室外的天氣還要炙熱。
May, early summer. Temperature is rising outside. Inside the Liaoyuan school, a group of students from the English Division were vying with one another in the Chinese Knowledge Competition organized by the Chinese Wisdom Group teachers. The learning atmosphere was becoming intense while the competition went on.
中文知識(shí)競(jìng)賽是燎原國(guó)際部每個(gè)學(xué)期都會(huì)舉行的特色項(xiàng)目。班級(jí)之間,以小組為單位進(jìn)行搶答。通過(guò)別出心裁的設(shè)計(jì)和豐富深厚的文化知識(shí),激發(fā)學(xué)生對(duì)傳統(tǒng)文化的興趣,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生進(jìn)行古今中外對(duì)比探究,扎根本土,融通中外,讓燎原學(xué)子在國(guó)際化教育中更具競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力。
Every semester, English Division students take part in the Chinese Knowledge Competition, celebrating the Chinese culture and language. Students formed groups with their classmates and competed to answer questions. The event aimed to spark the passion among students for Chinese traditional culture by giving well-prepared questions and topics. Students were inspired to think and compare cultures of different ages and countries. Through the activity, students are realizing the importance of taking root in the local culture first and then integrating the local culture with foreign ones.
“真的沒(méi)想到,我們小組會(huì)得第一,很驚喜!我覺(jué)得能贏得這個(gè)‘第一’,靠得是團(tuán)隊(duì)合作,意見(jiàn)統(tǒng)一和平時(shí)的積累。中華文化博大精深,學(xué)海無(wú)涯,我們會(huì)繼續(xù)努力!”9年級(jí)2班的Steven掩蓋不住內(nèi)心的興奮。
“I’ve never thought we were the winner. Big surprise! Well, we really work as a team, trying to come up with the same answer. We also learnt a lot. Chinese cultures are broad and profound. Its knowledge is boundless. We will keep up our efforts, ” said excitedly Steven Wang from G9-2.
“我很喜歡這些題目,設(shè)計(jì)的很有趣,明明是古老的東西,但是感覺(jué)很新,很貼近生活。真的是處處留心皆學(xué)問(wèn),我要好好琢磨琢磨!”11年級(jí)的Nicole 意猶未盡。
“I enjoyed answering these questions. They’re well-planned and a lot of fun. The ancient knowledge came to life and it is actually very close to our life. I really believe that learning happens everywhere as long as you care. I will spend more time on it,” said 11-1 Nicole.
“考試讓我壓力山大,但是我很喜歡這種比賽的形式,很有參與感。不知不覺(jué)就學(xué)到了很多東西,同時(shí)也讓我意識(shí)到自己的知識(shí)盲區(qū),我需要更多地關(guān)注時(shí)事,接觸真實(shí)的社會(huì)!”10年級(jí)2班的胡蝶頗受啟發(fā)。
“Exams always stressed me out. But I feel like doing well in this kind of competition. I learnt a lot. I also realize that I have some blind spots in my knowledge. Like, I need to read more about current affairs, and pay attention to what is happening in society.” 10-2 Alice reflected.
“競(jìng)賽才發(fā)現(xiàn)自己在語(yǔ)文方面還有太多的不足,跟別人相差太遠(yuǎn);我看了那么多日本作家的作品,還是不知道日本諾貝爾文學(xué)獎(jiǎng)獲得者是誰(shuí),真是太慚愧了!其中有題問(wèn)到,袁隆平爺爺生前的兩個(gè)愿望是什么,我真是腦子一片空白,只能盲猜,深刻感覺(jué)到關(guān)注時(shí)事新聞熱點(diǎn)的重要性和必要性。”10年級(jí)2班的小組成員紛紛發(fā)表語(yǔ)文參賽感言。
“Well, the competition really helps. We have a lot of room to improve. I feel that I’m far behind”; “I’ve read a lot of books produced by Japanese writers. But I didn’t even know which Japanese writer won the Nobel Prize. It’s a shame”; “When we were looking at the question about the two wishes of Mr. Yuan Longping, we were lost. We had to guess. It’s important and necessary for us to read more newspaper headlines.” G10-2 contestants recalled.
“原本還覺(jué)得自己對(duì)語(yǔ)文還是挺有自信的,結(jié)果參賽題目讓我深刻了解到什么是‘書到用時(shí)方恨少’,什么是‘學(xué)海無(wú)涯苦作舟’,今后我會(huì)不斷學(xué)習(xí),不斷豐富自己的,不僅書本還有課外,從而不斷拓寬自己的知識(shí)面?!?0年級(jí)3班的小組成員深刻反省。
“We showed up confidently for the competition only to find that it’s a long way to go. There’s a Chinese saying that one regrets not learning enough only when one has to use knowledge. I will keep learning and enrich my life with more knowledge and aspirations. Books and life experience can both help me improve my academic performance.” replied G10-3 contestants.
后疫情時(shí)代,內(nèi)卷化的應(yīng)試教育,眾說(shuō)紛紜,焦慮擔(dān)憂。中文知識(shí)競(jìng)賽能夠堅(jiān)持每學(xué)期如期圓滿地舉行,背后離不開(kāi)燎原校領(lǐng)導(dǎo)對(duì)于“全球教育”的深刻認(rèn)識(shí)和“融通中外”的教育規(guī)劃。
In the post-pandemic era, exam-oriented examination is facing involution. Debates are intense and concerns are varied. However, in Liaoyuan, Chinese Knowledge Competitions are seriously regarded and always supported as one of the most important events in each semester. It’s largely attributed to the Liaoyuan teachers’ vision of global education and their education philosophy of the fusion of both Chinese and foreign education.
少年智則國(guó)智,少年強(qiáng)則國(guó)強(qiáng)。深受國(guó)際化教育的燎原學(xué)子,同時(shí)也肩負(fù)著把中國(guó)教育國(guó)際化的使命。我們燎原學(xué)校對(duì)中文學(xué)習(xí)的重視,毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)給燎原學(xué)子打下了深厚的文化積淀。融通中外,學(xué)貫中西。相信無(wú)論走到哪里,都會(huì)是最亮麗和絢爛的一道風(fēng)景線。
? ? “If the youth are intelligent, China is intelligent. If the youth are strong, China is strong.” Liaoyuan is striving to enhance the teaching and learning of Chinese literature and culture, which undoubtedly lay a solid foundation for students’ future education in foreign countries. Liaoyuan students are expected to become global citizens with thorough knowledge of both western and traditional Chinese cultures. In the future, wherever they go, they will find themselves more confident.
