　　Bright and early at 6:30 am on May 22, Brantley Turner, representing Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School, logged into Zoom to join other Heads of School in our Dwight global network for a webinar entitled, “Re-opening in a COVID-19 World: International School Perspectives.”

　　5月22日早上6:30，Brantley Turner代表上海七寶德懷特高級中學，與德懷特其他校區(qū)的領導人通過Zoom參加了在線研討會，討論“國際學校如何在疫情后重新開放”。

　　Dwight was invited by NYSAIS — the New York State Association of Independent Schools — to speak to over 250 fellow NYSAIS members about the process of reopening schools in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing Dwight’s leadership role around the world, and its unique ability to provide insights from campuses where schools had recently reopened, NYSAIS members were eager to hear from Ms. Turner and Head of Dwight School Seoul Kevin Skeoch. Joining them were Head of School Dianne Drew and Vice Chancellor Blake Spahn from Dwight in New York.

　　德懷特應紐約州私立學校協(xié)會(NYSAIS)邀請，就全球新冠疫情后如何重新開放學校進行經(jīng)驗分享，并向250多名NYSAIS會員發(fā)表講話。鑒于德懷特在全球的領導力，以及在疫情后重新開放校園所積累的經(jīng)驗，NYSAIS成員急切地想要聽取Ms. Turner(德懷特上海)和Kevin Skeoch(德懷特首爾)兩位校長的分享。參會人員還包括紐約德懷特校長Dianne Drew以及德懷特紐約副理事長Blake Spahn。

　　As administrators of schools throughout New York State look to a hopeful reopening in the fall, if safe and possible, they were eager to learn from the experiences of Dwight Schools in Shanghai and Seoul. The panel discussed a number of topics, ranging from logistical considerations and health and safety protocols, to curriculum and classroom changes, as well as the social and emotional impact of COVID-19 on the school community.

　　整個紐約州的學校都期望能在秋季重新開學，因此他們都迫切希望學習德懷特上海和首爾的經(jīng)驗。討論的話題從學校師生的健康保障和安全流程，到課程和教室的變更等，以及疫情可能帶來的對整個學校社區(qū)的心理影響。

　　With so many attendees, the webinar was a high-energy, interactive, and informative discussion. Ms. Turner and Mr. Skeoch took the lead on sharing experiences and facing hurdles in their individual Dwight communities, which reflect that of other schools in their respective countries. They discussed the need to protect the health of their students, faculty, and staff, while being conscious of the impact that online teaching and learning has had on everyone during this period. Additionally, they shared insights into making the shift back to being in school physically, what that has been like, and how they have prepared for a number of scenarios, including what to do if we have a COVID-19 case at school. Ms. Turner and Mr. Skeoch also offered advice for managing social distancing in classrooms and public gathering spaces such as the cafeteria, and touched on a range of other logistical, management, scheduling, and budgeting considerations. When the one-hour mark for the end of the panel discussion came, attendees were eager to stay on to learn more and ask questions, so the webinar was extended.

　　參會人員眾多，整個在線研討會充滿了互動及信息量豐富的小組討論。Ms. Turner和Kevin Skeoch率先分享了他們所在校區(qū)的經(jīng)驗和面臨的困難，參會者都意識到全球學校其實都面臨類似的困難。他們討論了保護學生和教職員工健康的必要性，同時也意識到在線教學對每個人的影響。除此以外，他們還分享了重返校園的真知灼見，以及如何應對各種特殊和緊急情況，例如學校出現(xiàn)病例該怎么辦等。Ms. Turner 和Mr. Skeoch還就如何在公共場合(例如餐廳)保持安全的社交距離提供建議，以及后勤、管理、日常安排和預算安排等問題。即使一小時在線研討會結束后，仍然有很多的紐約參會者堅持留下來，希望能更多的了解上海和首爾的經(jīng)驗。

　　Among the many take-aways for attendees was the knowledge that no one school is alone in having concerns, fears, and many unanswered questions in this “new normal.” Educators around the world are all facing the same challenges while navigating uncharted waters.

　　參會者的收獲中，有一點是肯定的，那就是在新冠疫情帶來的新常態(tài)下，沒有一所學校是不存在擔憂和恐懼。世界各地的教育工作者都面臨著同樣的挑戰(zhàn)，都在摸著石頭過河。

　　As there is no precedent to follow, Dwight in Shanghai and Seoul were proud to participate to help guide hundreds of fellow educators throughout New York State with first-hand knowledge gained from their earlier re-openings.

　　德懷特上海和首爾很榮幸能受邀請參加此次研討會，由于沒有先例可循，只能盡己所能和目前積累的經(jīng)驗中幫助整個紐約州私立學校的教育工作者。

　　This was also a great opportunity for our colleagues at Dwight in New York to glean the same advice and insights, as our sister school looks forward to hopefully welcoming students back to campus in the fall.
